Morehead, KY. (January 18, 2022) – Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead received a call for assistance from Morehead Dispatch with a fatal structure fire on KY 1274 in Rowan County. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered two sets of human remains inside the burnt residence. The human remains could not be identified and have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. Investigators are working together to determine the cause of the fire. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Morehead Fire Department and Rowan County Coroner’s Office. This case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
