Royalton, KY. (February 25, 2021) – Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a call on February 25, 2021, at 1:06 p.m. reporting a single vehicle collision had occurred on Puncheon Creek Road in the Royalton community of Magoffin County. A trooper from Post 9 responded and began the investigation.
The initial investigation indicated Marcus Risner, 59 years old of Royalton, was operating a 2002 Toyota van on Puncheon Creek Road, when Risner’s vehicle exited the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned. Marcus Risner was pronounced deceased on scene by the Magoffin County Coroner’s Office.
Trooper Jimmie Stratton is investigating the collision and was assisted on scene by Lifeguard Ambulance Service and Magoffin County Rescue Squad.
