Morehead, KY. (December 3, 2020) – On December 2, 2020, Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead received a call for assistance from Rowan County Dispatch of a two vehicle injury collision that occurred on Interstate 64 at the 148 mile marker. Investigators determined a 2000 Chevy Trailblazer was traveling west bound operated by Dennis McCoy, 45 years of age, of Olive Hill, KY. Mr. McCoy was traveling in the left lane when he dropped of the shoulder of the roadway and overcorrected. Mr. McCoy then struck a 2016 International commercial vehicle operated by Michael Goodman, 48 years of age, of Columbia, South Carolina. Dennis McCoy was transported to St. Claire Regional Hospital by Rowan County EMS where he was pronounced deceased by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. Michael Goodman was unjured in the collision. Kentucky State Police was assisted by Kentucky Stae Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Rowan County Fire and Rescue, and Rowan County EMS. This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead.
