Sharpsburg, KY. (December 24, 2020) – Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead received a call for assistance from Bath County Dispatch regarding a two vehicle fatal collision on KY 11 in the Sharpsburg community. Investigators determined a 2012 Ford F150 was traveling north on KY 11 being operated by Gerald Ledford. Mr. Ledford crossed the center line striking a 2007 KIA Sedona operated by James McGlothin, 62 years of age, of Ewing KY. Gerald Ledford and his juvenile passenger were transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment of their injuries sustained in the collision while an additional passenger refused treatment. James McGlothin and his passenger Lisa McGlothin, 57 years of age, of Ewing, KY sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene by Bath County Coroner Andrew Owens. Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Bath County Sheriff’s Department, Bath County EMS and Sharpsburg Fire Department. This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead.
