Irvine, KY. (October 7, 2020) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is continuing their investigation into the attempted armed robbery that resulted in the death of one person.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, that man has been identified as James Baker, 26 years old of Mallie, KY. Baker was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Austin Brashear.
Irvine, KY. (October 6, 2020) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is conducting an investigation following an attempted armed robbery that occurred around midnight on Richmond Road, just west of Irvine.
The initial investigation indicates that three armed men, entered a residence occupied by two individuals, at which time an altercation occurred and multiple shots were fired. As a result, all three alleged attempted robbers were shot. One man was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Estill County Coroner. The two other men were transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The two occupants inside the residence were not injured during the incident.
No charges have been filed at this time, and KSP is not searching for any additional suspects. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Austin Brashear. He was assisted at the scene by KSP personnel, Estill County Sheriff’s Office, Irvine Police Department, Estill county EMS, and the Estill County Coroner.
