Stanville, KY. (October 4, 2020) –Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a 911 call of a possible fatal collision in Floyd County at approximately 8:09 P.M. on October 3, 2020. The collision occurred on US 23 in the Stanville community of Floyd County.
Upon arrival and through investigation, troopers found that 20-year-old Hannah Manns of Allen was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Cruz in the South bound lane of US 23 when 66-year-old William McCoy of East Point walked into her path of travel. William McCoy was struck by the Chevrolet Cruz and pronounced deceased on scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing by KSP Accident Reconstructionist, Trooper Corey Charles.
Trooper Charles was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, Betsy Layne Fire Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
