JACKSON, Ky. β Drivers who use KY 3354 (Cat Creek Road) in Powell County will have to find an alternate route for the next few weeks, as repairs are planned that will necessitate the road’s closure during working hours.
Contractor crews will be drilling steel to repair breaks. Since the road is not wide enough to accommodate the equipment and also allow traffic to pass, it will be closed to all traffic while the work is ongoing.
The work will take place between mile markers 0 and 2, or at the High Rock end of the route. The road will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and approximately 3:30 or 4 p.m. when work is ongoing. The road will be open to traffic during other hours.
No marked detour will be posted. Drivers can use KY 1057 and either KY 213 or KY 1639 to bypass the closure.
Work is expected to take two to four weeks to complete, depending on the availability of materials.
