KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Rockcastle County

Mount Vernon, Ky. (February 14, 2020) The Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London is investigating a fatal collision that occurred just after 2:00 pm on Thursday afternoon in  Rockcastle County on US 150 near Meritburg.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2001 Honda, operated by William A. Emmerson, 60 years old of Lancaster, KY, was traveling east on US 150 when he lost control of his vehicle.  He crossed the center line, and collided into a 2007 Pontiac that was traveling in the west, driven by Dana Owens, 69 years old of Crab Orchard, KY, and a 1998 Toyota operated by Jennifer A. Bishop, 29 years old of Brodhead, KY. 

As a result of the collision, William A. Emmerson, his passenger Melonie M. Reyes, 45 years old of Somerset, KY, and Jennifer Bishop sustained fatal injuries, and were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner’s Office.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 11 Detective Dackery Larkey.  He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 Personnel, Rockcastle Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, Rockcastle EMS, Mount Vernon Fire Department, and the Rockcastle County Coroner.
