Hazard, Ky. (January 11, 2020) – A Leslie County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured during a shooting incident early Saturday morning.  Kentucky State Police Post 13 Troopers were called to the Asher community of Leslie County after Post 13 was notified by Leslie County Emergency Operation Center that a deputy was out of his car with a vehicle and he had just advised that shots had been fired.  Officers with KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and KY Fish and Wildlife also responded to assist.

The initial investigation determined that the Deputy was in the Asher community due to a burglary and arson incident in the area.
